The Garden Sanctuary Homestay

We loved our stay in Sidemen and this place is right in the middle. The views from the balcony looking out over the neighbours' farm / rice field to the mountains was beautiful. Even saw fireflies (Kunang kunang)!! The bed is comfy, room is large and airconditioned which is essential in Bali. The rooms are right next to a restaurant and spa so people can see you but you can lower the outside blinds to restrict them looking into the room. Having easy access to breakfast and coffee was great too. The staff were helpful and polite. It's important to note that Sidemen is hilly so getting a motorbike makes it a lot easier to get around.

Noting that this is a new property there are just a few things that could be improved such as an extra electrical point in the kitchenette so you don't have to unplug the fridge to use the kettle (yes, we could have moved the kettle to the bedroom but...). The water pressure isn't the most powerful and sometimes ran cold so you have to be quick and the bathroom does tend to flood a bit. We were told just prior to arriving that the pool was leaking so couldn't be used but we could use another villa pool however this was on the other side of the river so we didn't utilise that offer and also without transport / motorbike makes it a bit hard to have a swim after a day out.

It was a really cool location, the views were amazing from the property.

It was still a new property so there were some issues but the staff did their best to fix them as possible. Some improvements needed
