Beyond Sanur

Good location, it's on the middle of Sanur, but away from the hustle of the road. Every day you wake up to the serene view of a green field cultivated by local farmers outside your window. The villa is spacious, 2-story, 1st is kind of a small studio with a small kitchen area and a pool, 2nd are 2 separate bedrooms with big double beds and toilets/showers in each (but only 1 of them with a boiler and hot water, which was not a problem for me). The apartment and the pool are cleaned every day by the host who lives right next door and is very amiable and responsive. A/C in every bedroom. No A/C in the "living area" on the first floor since the wall above the pool is partially open, with a transparent tent for ceiling. The coach on the first floor is not big enough for a grown-up to sleep, but OK for a kid (provided he/she is of sound sleep and is OK with tropical noises of the night :) The beach is 30 min walking distance, but best use grab - it's just around 3-4 usd there and back.

There is a lot of mosquitoes, but they're not very aggressive and don't cause much trouble, although bite occasionally, of course) they may cause problem during sleep, which is solved by spraying the bedrooms with insecticide every evening. It can't be helped on the 1st floor, which has a partially open wall above the pool. But my 12 years old daughter slept just fine in this area every night using a repellent.
