La casa di Gino in the centre with sea view

I loved the view from the apartment down to the beach in Monterosso. It was a 5 minute walk to get to the beach. We would go down to the beach around 8pm for an hour swim to cool off as at our accommodation it was extremely hot without airconditiong. We stayed in the old area of Monterosso which has some charm and history around the place. It was easy to get the train about at 10 to 15 minute walk. The biggest challenge was the heat wave.

When we originally arrived we had a message it was a 10 minute walk from the station to the accommdation. We werent told that you had to walk up a steep hill to get to it. The heat that day was 38 degrees and caring bags up in the heat was very difficult and exhausting. There was no airconditiong and they said to keep the windows open at night and the sea breeze will cool the place down. It was so hot that we had all the windows and doors open to get a breeze, but there wasn't one. We placed wet towels on our bodies at night to cool down. I followed up on that a few days later and she said we can;t do anything about the heat. I knew it would be hot there, but they could have at least offered some fans or something of that sort. It was disappointing and feeling hot and tired can make you very grumpy. We also had all the sound travel up the hill from the town centre. The first night there were people at a bar talking till late, the second and third night was the soccer match. I get its summer, but when you are hot tired and unable to sleep due to no cooling it can get quite frustrating.
