The apartment itself is cosy, clean and nicely equipped, with a beautiful panoramic sea view from the balcony. It has an authentic Italian/Sicilian character and is conveniently located in the historic centre, with restaurants, shops and the main sights within walking distance. What to expect from the setting: - an old residential building, 3rd floor, with no passenger lift; - the bedroom window facing the internal stairwell, so you can hear neighbours coming and going in the morning; - narrow historic streets with cars and scooters, limited pavements and not always perfectly maintained; - some typical building sounds, including a morning pump.

The main mismatch for us was the beach. Although the listing says the beach is about 200 m away, the nearby “city beach” is an undeveloped rocky shore without sunbeds, umbrellas, cafés or other beach facilities. During our stay, seaweed also made swimming difficult. Proper beaches where we could comfortably spend time and swim were 40–60 minutes away by scooter. The mobile network signal in the area is rather weak - to keep in mind in case the Wi-Fi stops working. Also, there were intense renovation works in the apartment below during our stay, which caused considerable noise for the whole week. Overall, the apartment is pleasant and charming, but it did not match what we expected from a comfortable beach holiday. For guests looking for an authentic historic Sicilian setting, however, the character of the location may be exactly what they are looking for.

Fantastisk leilighet! Vi hadde et flott opphold i leiligheten som ligger i en liten bygård der italieneren selv bor, det virket ikke som det var flere utleie leiligheter i gården. Leiligheten hadde en flott stor balkong med utsikt over havet og piazzaen nedenfor. På kveldene satt lokal befolkningen ute og koste seg sammen. Var en fin steinstrand i umiddelbar nærhet som var utrolig fin. Leiligheten fremstod som helt ny med alt vi behøvde, det var rikelig utstyr på kjøkkenet. Soverommet var stort og fint med aircondition, sengen var veldig god. Verten var enkel å nå, han var der og møtte oss og informerte om restauranter, båtturer, hvor vi kunne finne matbutikker og hvor vi skulle gå for å komme til gamlebyen som lå ca 7 min unna når vi gikk. Veldig imøtekommende og hyggelig. Anbefales for alle som vil bo litt utenfor selve gamlebyen og i nærhet til en flott strand. Reiser gjerne tilbake!
