This neat two-bedroom apartment, surrounded by the beautiful moors of Exmoor, overlooks a charming packhorse bridge and village stream. Perfect for a small family plus one dog, it’s a good base for keen walkers and is also within easy reach of beaches and the coastal village of Porlock (1 mile).

Take the steps up to the front door, leave boots and coats in the hallway, and step into the comfortable lounge. A light-drenched space, relax on the sumptuous sofa with your favourite programme on the TV or simply unwind and listen to the soothing sounds of the stream below. A dining table is the perfect spot for a sociable meal while the separate kitchen has every utensil you’ll need to show off your cooking skills. When it’s time for bed, two welcoming bedrooms await: choose between a serene king-size and versatile twin zip-and-link bedroom. Both bedrooms offer thoughtful touches including bedside lamps, artwork on the walls, and TVs for late-night relaxation. In the morning, freshen up in the family bathroom then step out onto the balcony. Sip your morning coffee and enjoy the view or venture into the shared garden for a friendly chat with neighbours or an al fresco BBQ.

Lose yourself in Exmoor National Park’s wild beauty – wander through ancient woodlands, roam across heather-covered moors, and spot the iconic wild ponies. Alternatively, enjoy the seaside charm at the coastal village of Porlock (1 mile). Take a stroll along the dog-friendly beach then savour a well-earned meal at a traditional pub. Also worth a visit is Minehead (4 miles) where you can explore its pretty harbour, swim in the sea at the large sandy beach, and indulge in delightful treats at a quaint tearoom.
