About this house rental

Summary:

This property is a delightful, semi-detached barn conversion retaining many of its original features and providing elegant accommodation for up to people.

The Space:

This delightful, semi-detached converted barn enjoys an elevated position with splendid views over Danby and Great Fryup Dale. Exposed beams, wooden floorboards and a wood burner all help make this a characterful property. The kitchen dining room is a modern, well-equipped area overlooking the stable yard and has a real farmhouse feel to it. The sitting room is on the first floor and takes advantage of the magnificent views, and has a woodburner and exposed ceiling timbers to give it a welcoming and inviting ambience. There are two generous bedrooms all offering a calm and relaxing space after a busy day. There is an elegant, ground floor bathroom and outside is a walled garden and access to open countryside beyond the property. Strictly one well-behaved small dog welcome. This property adjoins Daffodil Cottage (ref 1575) and together, they sleep 6 so this is ideal for bigger parties. When booked together a 10% discount can be applied; please contact us for further information. Children welcome all ages.

The Neighborhood:

The village of Danby lies in the peaceful Esk Valley, and offers visitors a select range of amenities including two public houses, both serving excellent food, and a bakery. There is a visitor's centre at nearby Danby Lodge which houses educational exhibitions, craft displays and a tea room. The centre is set in 13 acres and offers visitors wonderful nature trails and other walks. The last of the working water mills on the River Esk can be found at the mouth of the river and has been restored to full working order. Danby Castle is now partly a ruin but has a fascinating history and was the home to Catherine Parr, Henry VIII's last wife, when she was married to John Neville, Lord Latimer of Danby. This area makes a superb base to see this tremendous area.
