Great house and location! Close (drive) to beach, shopping and restaurants. Spacious and comfortable! Make sure to bring any spices or staples that you may need for cooking. Nothing is stocked in the kitchen. That is something that has never been an issue with other rentals that we have booked but Meijer and Aldi are literally 4 minutes away so it was easily rectified

Plenty of space, quiet area. Conveniently located but not much of a lake view. The gas grill had not been cleaned for some time. Overall, amenities were good and the house met our expectations and needs.

So the house is very much as described and how it looks in the photos, with the caveat that there's now construction on one side and more about to start around it. So it will be loud most days, making it difficult to enjoy the very nice decks. There is also a dog on the other side of the treeline -- a hound -- who absolutely will not stop howling. The owners constantly yell at him to quiet down instead of bringing him in, and the few evenings we were there that were nice enough to have dinner outside, it was difficult to enjoy it as it sounded like there was a sea lion next door. It really is *that* loud. Which isn't the fault of the house, obviously, but it's something you should be aware of. There IS a lake view, but it's hard to see in the photos, and it's very limited because the lake is probably 3/4 mile away and there are a lot of powerlines that interfere with the view. The house is still very new, which is nice, and has comfortable beds and plenty of bedding and towels. It's also clean. However, it's not finished. I'm not sure how they are getting away with renting a house that isn't really complete yet. For instance, the dishwasher is hanging out of the wall and has never been fully installed. The second day we were there, we ran it, and water came gushing out of it as it tips forward. We called Vacasa at the local number provided, and never heard anything back. This isn't surprising, as when I had questions about this listing when we first thought we may rent it, it took a literal month to hear back. When I emailed them again, they never responded at all. They did say we should call, but as this isn't 1995, they should have enough people to answer basic inquiries via email. Besides, they clearly don't answer calls or respond to voicemails, either, so I don't know that it matters. All of the bedrooms are very bright, which is nice during the day, but because they have blinds and no curtains (but each window has curtain rod holders installed -- again, the house isn't completely finished), it means you'll be woken up at 5 a.m. with the sun during the summer in the master bedroom. There are some other odd things as well that have to do with the design of the house, like having 4 bedrooms on the top floor, one that's clearly supposed to be a 2nd master, but has to share a bath with two kids' bedrooms. That "master" is also the room with the big walk-out deck and the view of the lake. But if you use it, you won't have a bath. The actual master is nice, too, but no view, and no curtains. As far as dining goes, the house is supposed to have space for up to 10, but there are only 6 dining chairs at a table that would hold 8 easily, and two barstools, so if you have a full house, there's nowhere for everyone to eat together. Additionally, this is a big house -- it has to be 3000 sq ft at least -- and there is only one thermostat, which is on the main floor. So at night, it's hot upstairs even on cool days, and the ground floor and main floor are freezing when it's cool outside just to keep the top floor tolerable. Yes, you can open windows, but that only works when it's not raining, and we had a lot of rain when we were there. In the summer, on hot days, I imagine the upstairs would get extremely warm and be very difficult to cool. I would also recommend that you bring your own frying pans. The ones in the house are clearly not new. They are traditional non-stick for the most part, and scratched up, making them difficult to use.
