It is really close to Beppu JR station, despite it could be a little tricky to find at first, as its main door locates in the an alley. Reception is closed between 11am and 4pm and after 10pm til the next morning, you won't have too much interaction with the staff. The common area is spacious and well equipped. There are 3 100 yen public hot spring nearby.

This is the cleanest and most modern hostel in Beppu. I have
stayed twice this month and will stay again in early April with about five friends. I like the location and cleanliness, but as important is the kitchen and dining room. The room is big enough to easily fit 30 people. This makes is perfect for groups because we have a place to meet and talk besides the dorm bedrooms. It is less than 5 minutes from the train station, a market, a grocery store and many restaurants.
