Town: Oxwich Bay is a picturesque village, home to one of the most popular beaches on the beautiful Gower Peninsula, renonwed as a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s curving sandy beach is backed by sand dunes and leads you to the spectacular Three Cliffs Bay. Beyond the sand dunes you’ll find lagoons where you can spot swans, herons and other water birds. Oxwich Castle has a long history and sits close to the medieval St Illtyd’s Church which has origins going back to the 6th century.
Back at the beach, you can enjoy a range of watersport activities for hire and beachside kiosks offering snacks and ice-cream.
If you want to venture further afield, nearby Port Eynon is another fine bay. Situated on the Wales coastal path, it also has two fish and chip shops and a gift shop at the sea front, a Youth Hostel, pub, coffee shop and a restaurant.
