Sandy Bottom, towards the end of the shore walk is a gathering place for swimmers all year through. Kayaking, sailing and water boarding are popular sports on the Lough
Our neighbouring village of Rostrevor is home to Kilbroney Park an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Park has walks, mountain trails and the Famous Cloughmor, a massive boulder said to have been hurled by the Giant Fionn Mac Cumhaill in anger at a Scottish Giant. The “Big Stone” can be accessed easily from the top car park in Kilbroney.
Mountain Biking is available in Kilbroney.
Mountain walking is a favourite pastime in the area, with paths to suit all abilities.
Kodak Corner is a spectacular view point a short walk to the right of Clough Mor.
Follow a circular route towards the treeline of Slieve Martin to enjoy further fabulous views of mountains and lough. You will also see Carlingford and Omeath across the Lough. Follow the circular route to the treeline and onto Kodak Corner.
The Park is also home to a childrens play area and Tennis Courts, and The Narnia trail
Also visit the popular Fairy Glen a scenic walk along the Rostrevor River into Kilbroney Park.
