About this house rental
Former home of a Humboldt Prize-winning Professor of Physics from Notre Dame and family as they enjoyed it. It exhibits a blend of 1960’s Danish Modern furniture and antiques, embroidery, paintings and art, mostly from Scandinavia, with one of the bedrooms decorated with collections from travels in East Asia The 3000 sq. ft. home is fully stocked, has an exercise room, well stocked kitchen, ping pong, 5 TVs, flower garden and patio furniture. Ideal for guests who want a quality experience.
The space
The house is furnished with mix if antiques and Danish Modern. The master bedroom is very large, has double bed, a large TV with local antenna and LG digital channels, large closets and dressers. The second bedroom has a queen bed, dresser, closet and an office desk and supplies. The third and fourth bedrooms have twin beds, while there is a queen bed in the finished basement. There are 2.5 baths, one with a jacuzzi tub (for 1), the second with a shower, and a half bath downstairs. All common areas are all accessible to guests, and the full basement has exercise equipment, including a Nordic Track, Elliptical trainer, aerobic stair steps, and a pair of 28 lb. dumb bells, and a ping pong table.
Guest access
The house is usually rented as a whole, especually for football season, but feel free to inquire about negotiating a reduced price for individual rooms, when there are no football games or other big events. All common areas including the kitchen, are available for use.
There is plenty of available space for parking in the street and driveway. Bikes can be stored in the garage. The house is in a safe, upper middle class neighborhood 1.5 miles from downtown, with the cross-street being a straight shot to Notre Dame (also 1 mile, 1.5 miles to the football stadium).
