Hidden get away in Lewes

Great location. Cool throughout despite the heat. Very comfy bed, well stocked kitchen and very flexible on arrival time.

Wonderful location for Lewes Railway Station and for Glyndebourne Audience Coach. Great to go “ home” after opera rather than taking a train back to Victoria.

Location, and the flat in general

The hosts kindly left some croissants and coffee things which was much appreciated. They seem to take loving care of their property and it was very clean and they were very good in communicating. The site was very close to the station and within easy walking distance of the town centre. The buses to Glynebourne that you can book in advance are at the station (although we were taken by car). There are several good restaurants quite close (within five to ten minutes walking - depending on how fast you walk the uphill bit).

My wife found the mattresses too soft and had to sleep on the floor. I had a slightly sore back after the second night - but I slept well (on the mattress). Upgrading the mattress quality would be very beneficial. A basement flat is never optimal (slightly damp as usual when you turn off the ventilation and the view out of the windows was not appealing and it was overlooked by the street - but it had blinds to mask the view) - but this was compensated for by the price. It would be nice to have some clothes hangers in the cupboards. We found it very complicated to try and get the television to work properly - especially on the second day - but we are not very digital people (but getting the wi-fi to work was easy and it worked well).
