NotOrdinary is ideal for exploring some of the most beautiful beaches in south-eastern Sicily, including: Marina di Noto, Marina di Avola, Calamosche Beach, Marianelli Beach (naturist), San Lorenzo, Marzamemi, Isola delle Correnti, Portopalo di Capo Passero. For lovers of nature and culture, we recommend visiting: the Vendicari Oriented Nature Reserve, the Pantalica Necropolis, the Roman Villa of Tellaro, and Noto Antica. Defined as the capital of the Baroque, Noto was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. Among the protected wonders, the Cathedral of Noto stands out, the most important place of worship in the city, and Palazzo Ducezio, which houses the famous Hall of Mirrors. Not far away, along the coast, is the natural oasis of Calamosche beach, recognised in 2005 as the most beautiful beach in Italy for its crystal-clear waters. For lovers of relaxation and the sea, Eastern Sicily and the area surrounding Syracuse offer everything you could wish for. Starting from the ancient Greek city and heading south, the equipped and most beautiful beaches to explore are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella and Fontane Bianche, whose name derives from natural sources of fresh water and the particular white colour of the sand. Inside the island of Ortigia, moreover, you will find equipped solarium (Zefiro and Nettuno) and a small free beach called Cala Rossa. Going further south, about 30 km away, we find some beautiful unspoilt and inaccessible beaches, including Calamosche, Vendicari with its Natural Faunal Oasis and the beautiful San Lorenzo. For culture enthusiasts, you must definitely see the Greek Theatre of Syracuse and the entire archaeological park with the Ear of Dionysius, a cave carved into limestone in the shape of a human ear, the Paolo Orsi museum, and also the Latomies of the Capuchins, as well as Ortigia itself with its historical and cultural beauties as well as landscape features. Not to be overlooked are Noto, the seafront with the Avola tuna fishery and finally the fishing village of Marzamemi. In short, Sicily is a land to be explored entirely and its natural and cultural beauties are treasures with which to fill one's gaze.
The accommodation is approximately 1 hour by car from Catania airport and less than 15 minutes on foot from Noto railway station. For those arriving by public transport, the bus stop is right in front of the house: from there, buses arrive directly from Catania airport, as well as from Syracuse, Avola and Modica, making NotOrdinary easily accessible from all of south-eastern Sicily.
