Dreamcatcher Restaurant and Guesthouse

This is such a welcoming and calm place to stay, it feels like visiting friends of family. Seena, Brianna & their family know everything there is to know about the area & are happy to share their favourite spots, advise on transport etc. They are really helpful when you need it but are zero-pressure people who are happy to let guests enjoy the peace, which I really appreciated. And they're just so nice! In the cute but spacious restaurant/lounge upstairs you can enjoy a varied menu, comfy seating, fans (very important in this heat!) and a nice little book exchange. Guests can refill water bottles at the property, which I love. Rooms are simple but clean, have plenty of space, and have good mosquito netting on the windows. Wifi was surprisingly very consistent & good, especially for a small village. And the location was a real highlight, it really could not be better - peaceful & quiet yet in the centre of the village and near the bus station and temples.

It would be nice to have a thin curtain on the window so there's the option of privacy while leaving the wooden shutters open for airflow (I put my sarong up, which worked fine). If you like a firm pillow & mattress, you'll be happy - I generally don't, but I slept llike a baby here! It's not something they can fix as it's due to building constraints, but I didn't love that the toilet cubicles for the rooms with shared bathroom are really small. Shower rooms have plenty of space though (and they have hooks!! Why do so many places not have them?!). It's not specific to this accommodation but visitors may wish to know that Hampi, as many small villages in this region, experiences occasional power outages. It can't be helped and they tend to be infrequent & short-lived, but it does mean your ceiling fan will stop every once in a while!
