Idyllic cottage with large garden near the sea

Good location, clean and spacious accommodation for the four of us. The garden was nicely kept and outside store was handy for wet clothes and washing. The kitchen was well equipped.

we felt the accommodation was very basic for the money. The front rooms don’t get a lot of sunlight and lighting was very dim. Following the heat wave it felt damp and chilly when we arrived and the heating wasn’t working to take the chill off. Felix was very helpful in getting us a couple of heaters. The shower had little power. As we only have a shower at home we chose properties with a bath, to give us a luxury bath treat. Unfortunately not only is it advised not to take baths but the plug appears to have been removed so you can’t take a bath. There was no tv or monitor to allow you to broadcast to, which is ok, but also no games or puzzles for rainy days.

This cottage is absolutely amazing, we loved how authentic it is, it was super clean, beds were all really comfortable and there was plenty of room for 8 of us. The gardens are large and our dogs loved being out there, plenty of outdoor seating and a toilet outside so no having to go into the house for the kids whilst playing in the gardens. It is situated within minutes of the likes of clovelly and westward ho beach amongst other places and a supermarket is only 15 minutes away so no need to eat out every day. Highly recommend taking a family here and seeing for yourself. Andrew is a great host, very accommodating and always answers any queries really quickly. Great place and we will be visiting again in the near future.

Loved the Location and how pretty it was from the outside. Great hikes from the house and lovely and quiet. Nice outdoor space and space for parking both cars. Nice to have tea coffee and wine as complimentary extras. Easy entry.

It wasn’t cleaned very well. Lots of dead flies, spiders webs encasing inside of windows and on the the window ledges on the inside. The back twin bedroom window didn’t close and our teenagers wouldn’t sleep in it as there were so many bugs, moths & spiders coming in. The room was left unused. The long kitchen table was covered in crumbs so again, not cleaned. The ceiling light fitting in the back bedroom was exposed. We had to be very careful with the shower as when my 6 ft son in law showered we had drips of water coming through the light fitting by the kitchen table. It didn’t happen again but made us nervous. Guessing the sealant around the bath must have gaps somewhere?

We were only 3 and the facilities were more than adequate, but if 8 people turned up it might have been a strain.
