Appartement de Standing - Vue Buttes-Chaumont

Surprisingly spacious apartment on the fifth floor overlooking a lovely big park. There is a small lift for those not able to do the stairs. The tiled floors are cool in the heat but there is no air con. Two large double bedrooms provide ample room for 2 couples or the living room provides extra bed space with a pull out bed if there are more in your party. There is a spacious table for family dining. Big TV with wifi supplied. Provided are little Welcome packs of shampoo, conditioner and soap and for the kitchen a little washing up liquid and sponge and a good amount of coffee pods for the machine. All plates, glasses and pans are provided and everything you need is available however the cups are a little small so take a mug if you like a larger volume. Toaster, oven, hob, microwave, dish-washer and washing machine are all available. There is a Jacuzzi bath tub which is an experience in itself. It has a hose shower that you can pull out for hair washing but the tub is deep so not suitable for those less flexible to get into or out of. Hair dryer and small hair straightener available too. Separate toilet with plenty of toilet rolls. Also ironing boards and iron. They really have provided everything you could need on holiday. The area of Butte-Chaumont is packed with food places so you won't need to travel far to get a good meal. There are a few shops up the road to buy food and the supermarket is within about a 5 minute walk up the hill. A bus stop is right outside and the Metro is just a few yards away. Plenty of cafes around to get a coffee and watch the world go by. Tip: There are plenty of hangers in the wardrobes so no need to take any extras. Remember: make sure the keys are in your hand before you go out of the door. It locks automatically behind you and costs 130€ for a locksmith if you forget!!

There were one or two things that need looking at in the apartment but relatively quick fixes which I discussed with the agency who responded to all queries really quickly and were most helpful. There was little to dislike. The area is on the outskirts of Paris very green and pleasant. It is at the top of a hill so be prepared for hills up and down. The metro is old so not suitable for those less able but the best way to get from A to B as the whole of Paris seems to be blocked with traffic going at a snail's pace down very narrow, small roads.
