Welcome to Kure Surf Shack, a beautifully updated oceanfront home with direct beach access, expansive ocean views, 5 bedrooms, and plenty of space for groups to enjoy a relaxing coastal getaway.

• A signed Booking Agreement is required for all reservations before check-in.
• This property is the north side of an oceanfront duplex.
• The pool and beach access are shared with the south side of the duplex.

Let's start with pros! House is beautiful, well stocked with cups, dishes, cookware. Location is hard to beat and was wonderful for our family reunion. Negatives however were plenty. 1. Pool towels were not set out in the basket but left in the closets of various rooms. Additionally, for a house that says it holds 14, there were fewer towels than needed. Seems bizarre to be so stingy on towels.2. The freezer leaks and has been leaking for a while (hence the damaged wood). 3. Two fire alarms went off due to batteries needing to be replaced. 4. A/C being replaced during our stay made the last day of our trip underwhelming. A/C repair started at 7:58 AM and between the noise, workers moving through the house, heat and smell, the entire third floor wasn't accessible from 8-12pm. 5. Management company did not provide great communication. I had to reach out twice to ask for the access code before it was emailed over. Then there was the multiple emails over several days during my stay, plus calls with management about the A/C repair dates changing. Finally, I had to call them to ask about check-out items cause nothing was mentioned in the book or sent to me. That is a lot of back and forth put on me, when my goal is just to relax and enjoy the vacation. Generally speaking, I would avoid working with them again after this experience.

While the weather wasn't the best - not surprising because it was a typical February weekend in NC - the house was perfect for our group of 4 couples. Plenty of room to hang out together inside on the comfy couches & chairs in the living room & around large dining table. Sun even peeked out for a bit in the mornings so we could enjoy coffee on the deck & watch the sun rise & the waves roll in. House was very clean & beds comfortable. Chalkboard full of restaurant recs & welcome basket with KB Surf Shack custom coozies (to keep), coffee supplies & paper goods were a nice touch. Owners are in the process of a kitchen renovation but staged the work so the kitchen would be fully operational during our stay (if they hadn't told us we would have never been the wiser). Property management was quick to respond to questions before and during our stay and even brought over a space heater to give the lower level room a little more warmth since it was so dreary outside. Would definitely stay here again - maybe next time weather will be let us enjoy the beach & pool too.

Beautiful home! Great flexibility with room layouts and kitchen amenities were great. Wonderful views! Had a few things we needed assistance throughout our stay and the property manager was responsive and helpful.
