Morpeth, a charming market town in Northumberland, is a great starting point from which to travel to the countryside or the seaside. Morpeth is a great starting point for exploring nearby attractions like Druridge Bay, which has miles of miles of golden sand, the vibrant city of Newcastle, to the south, Alnwick, which has a castle and gardens, and the National Trust's Wallington Hall, to the west. Morpeth also offers the ruins of a historic castle, lovely parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches, and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum. There is also access to the Simonside and Cheviot Hills, which offer excellent hiking opportunities amidst stunning scenery.
