Whisk your loved one away to this romantic 17th-century cottage in North Yorkshire. Sleeping just two guests, the enticing, one-bedroom retreat adjoins a Grade I-listed stately home at Sutton-on-the-Forest, 9 miles from York. Set within 50 acres of shared, award-winning gardens, the dog-friendly cottage also has its own courtyard garden.
Wander inside to find accommodation with a wealth of character and abundance of country house style. The comfortable lounge boasts an open fire to cuddle up in front of after wonderful walks on crisp winter days. Settle down in front of the TV or ponder over one of the books on the coffee table. The kitchen, which is a good size, has been fitted out to ensure you can rustle up special meals using the Yorkshire ingredients you have sourced. There is also a work space where you can sit with your laptop to catch up on your emails. At the end of each fabulous day away, head upstairs to your beautiful bedroom on the first floor. With a king-size bed, this gorgeous room has everything required to ensure exceptional comfort throughout your stay. Awake to enjoy a slow start to the morning with a refreshing shower or long, hot soak in the freestanding bath in your en-suite bathroom. Have breakfast or morning coffee out in the courtyard on fine days. BBQ your supper out here on summer evenings. There is parking for one car.
Spend a day or two in colourful, historic York, pottering in the independent shops of the charming Shambles. Find an array of different pubs and restaurants here for dining out and take time to see the minster and explore the Jorvik Viking Centre. Visit the magnificent stately home of Castle Howard, 11 miles away.
