Enjoy an idyllic rural escape with your loved ones staying at this renovated farmhouse on the edge of the North York Moors. Set on a farm with a handful of other holiday cottages, this three-bedroom property is ideal for families and groups of friends visiting the Yorkshire coast and countryside. Spend your days exploring the gothic seaside town of Whitby and quirky fishing villages, and roaming coastal trails and wild moorland. Then return here to dine alfresco on the patio and snuggle by the wood burner.


Set amid a cluster of former farm buildings, this farmhouse has been thoughtfully renovated with light and bright interiors and bucolic views all around. There’s a large kitchen/diner with country-style cabinets and a vintage wooden dining table, offering the perfect backdrop to holiday meals. The adjoining lounge is warm and welcoming with an assortment of seating, a wood burner and patio doors opening outside. Upstairs, three beautifully appointed bedrooms offer a relaxing night’s sleep. Choose between two doubles and a single, each with a TV, open wardrobes, and far-reaching country views. One of the doubles has an en suite, while the other two share the family bathroom. Outside, a private patio invites al-fresco drinks and dining, and there’s allocated parking. There is secure bike storage available for those who want to explore the beauty of the area on bikes.


Venture to the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay (4 miles) to go rock-pooling on the beach and stroll around twisted cobbled streets, or head to the gothic seaside town of Whitby (4 miles). Here you can explore the ruins of Whitby Abbey, stroll around the fishing harbour, and treat your taste buds to fresh fish and seafood. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoors activities, from walking and cycling on the North York Moors to stargazing in this Dark Sky Reserve.
