Those looking to answer the call of the sea can explore the three miles of soft golden sand and rugged dunes of Druridge Bay Beach 8 miles away whilst keen coastal explorers can head to nearby Amble 11 miles away to board a boat trip to spot puffins and seals along the journey to Coquet Island, an RSPB seabird sanctuary home to a 36,000-bird colony a mile off the coast. Dive into some rich local history at the iconic Alnwick Castle 14 miles away, the second largest inhabited castle in the UK.

Outside, make the most of your stunningly serene scenery by slipping into the sunken hot tub, the ultimate antidote for weary walking muscles, or by dining alfresco with a glass of something chilled on the decked terrace. There is also private parking for one car outside, as well as a useful outdoor tap.
