Coldstream is a charming town close to the Scottish Borders known for its rich history and stunning landscapes. Situated along the River Tweed, the area offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural attractions. The Coldstream Museum is a must-see, showcasing the town's military heritage as the birthplace of the Coldstream Guards – one of the British Army's oldest regiments. The Hirsel Estate is another highlight, offering a peaceful retreat with its tranquil lakes, picturesque woodlands, and art galleries. Nature lovers can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Cheviot Hills, ideal for hiking and outdoor adventures. The historic Coldstream Bridge, which connects Scotland and England, provides not only a link between the two countries but also a great spot for taking in the beautiful surrounding views. Visit Heatherslaw Light Railway, Flodden Visitor Centre, and the historic castles at both Ford and Etal, all within 8 miles.
