The Saxon town of Christchurch is only 3.5 miles, boasting castle ruins, a historic church, a thriving mix of independent shops and restaurants offering locally caught seafood. Alternatively, the New Forest is 10 miles away, boasting a landscape of tranquil woodland, heathland and river valleys.
