Walkers and wildlife-watchers will enjoy exploring nearby Camps Heath Nature Reserve, which is part of the larger Oulton Marsh and offers access to the River Waveney and the Norfolk Broads. These inland waterways are a hive of activity – drive 1.5 miles to Nicholas Everitt Park and you can hire a day boat, take your seat on a sightseeing cruise or book sailing and paddleboarding lessons. If you prefer a slower pace of life, the park area has plenty of inns and eateries to punctuate a gentle stroll. Just 3.5 miles away, Lowestoft’s South Beach is pristine and popular all-year-round; search for sea glass on the shoreline or people-watch from one of the promenade bars and cafes.
