For a day on the beach, it’s a 1.5-mile walk along the harbour wall to Wells’ stunning beach, where vast sands are backed by colourful huts; in high season, an electric bus service will save your legs. Less than 2 miles away, the Holkham Estate includes a stately home and nature reserve among its many attractions. For more natural delights, drive 8 miles to Blakeney and take a boat trip to see the seals and bird sanctuary at Blakeney Point.
