The Coastal Carriage is a charming, thoughtfully prepared retreat in the heart of Bluffton. Just minutes from Old Town Bluffton’s shops, dining, and waterfront, this walkable location blends comfort and convenience. A short drive brings you to the beautiful beaches and world-class golf of Hilton Head Island, while home offers a peaceful place to relax, recharge, and experience the Lowcountry like a local.
The space
The Coastal Carriage is a private 1-bedroom, 1-bath carriage unit designed for comfort and convenience. The bedroom features a comfortable queen size bed, large closet, a TV with streaming capabilities, and easy access to the full, spa-like bathroom with wellness minded bath products. The living room offers a cozy seating area with a pullout sofa bed and a second TV for relaxing after a day exploring Bluffton.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a coffee and tea station, snacks and everything needed for preparing meals at home. A designated dining area can also double as a workspace. Guests also have access to a laundry room located downstairs for added convenience during longer stays.
Thoughtfully arranged and inviting, the space is perfect for a relaxing Bluffton getaway.

Guests will have full private access to The Coastal Carriage, including the entire 1-bedroom, 1-bath carriage unit located above the garage. The space includes a fully equipped kitchen, living room with pullout sofa bed and designated dining/work area. Guests also have access to the laundry room located downstairs.
The carriage unit has its own private entrance, allowing guests to come and go comfortably during their stay.

The Coastal Carriage is a private carriage unit located above a detached garage behind the main home. The garage and backyard area are reserved for use by the front house only.
Guests access the carriage unit via a private entrance and staircase. Please note that stairs are required to enter the space.

My husband, daughter, and I stayed at this property for a couple of nights while visiting the Bluffton area. The property was very clean, well kept, and well stocked with extra provisions. There was a snack supply in the kitchen, as well as coffee and tea supplies. The fridge had a Brita pitcher and there were even re-usable water bottles there for use. The property was in a nice neighborhood with nice areas to walk around. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again in the future!

Excellent spot. Extremely clean and very nicely decorated. Thoughtful touches throughout including snacks!!Perfect for a couple. Located very conveniently near Bluffton and about 45 minutes to Savannah. This is an apartment above a garage, located in a large family oriented neighborhood. Pool within easy walking distance. Dog friendly! Many places to walk. Excellent communication with the host. Initially had a glitch checking in and both the host and owner were very responsive. There are a flight of stairs to get into the living space. That would be the only thing that we would say needs to be considered. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay at The Coastal Carriage was one of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had. The property is in a great location for walking and accessing Old Town Bluffton, it was incredibly clean, and it had everything we needed to feel like we were at home. There were snacks, coffee and tea, and some basic complementary toiletries like toothbrushes and shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Our dog was very comfortable here. We did bring a baby gate to gate off the stairs so he wouldn’t be able to go up and down them, and we were glad we did. He’s 12 years old and is now deaf and blind, so stairs in an unfamiliar place make us nervous. We highly recommend The Coastal Carriage if you’re in the area, and we will definitely be back!
