About this house rental
Could this be the perfect base for all of your Lake District adventures?
From the moment you arrive, life begins to shift outdoors—morning coffee on the terrace, afternoons exploring the fells, and evenings settling back in as the light fades across the valley.
The Space
Inside, the house feels calm, considered and effortlessly welcoming. A refined interior design feel runs throughout, with soft tones, natural textures and thoughtful details creating a space that is both elevated and easy to settle into.
With five bedrooms sleeping up to eleven guests, including three en-suite bedrooms, Harrycroft is well suited to families sharing or multi-generational stays. Two en-suite master bedrooms—one on the ground floor and one on the first—each with Smart TVs, offer flexibility and privacy, allowing different groups to come together while still enjoying their own space.
The first floor forms something of its own private level, with an en-suite master bedroom with balcony and TV, alongside the triple loft room—ideal for a family to share their own space within the house.
The ground floor consists of well-balanced living and sleeping spaces, including a master en-suite bedroom with TV, a spacious en-suite twin room, and a further stylish double bedroom—creating a layout that works effortlessly for larger groups.
At the heart of the home, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area brings everyone together. Designed for both ease and sociability, it works just as well for relaxed breakfasts as it does for longer, shared meals. The large dining table comfortably seats eleven, creating a natural focal point for time spent together.
Two separate seating areas allow the house to unfold around you—one centred around the warmth of the woodburner, the other ideal for quieter moments, conversation or settling in to watch a film. A well-appointed family bathroom, alongside the en-suites, ensures everything works comfortably for larger groups.
Outside
The garden is where Harrycroft really comes into its own.
Stretching out from the house, it leads gently down to a private stream that borders the grounds—always present, always calming, and deeply connected to the setting. It’s a space for children to explore, for dogs to roam, and for everyone to slow down.
A spacious dining terrace with far-reaching views invites long lunches and relaxed evenings outdoors. And tucked into the garden, the hot tub offers a place to fully unwind at the end of the day, surrounded by fresh air and open sky.
The Setting
Everything feels close, yet nothing feels rushed.
Walk straight from the door onto the surrounding hills, follow trails through woodland and alongside water, or wander into the village in just a few minutes. Nearby, The Swan at Grasmere is an easy favourite—whether for a relaxed meal, a good pint, or an afternoon in its spacious garden.
Harrycroft is also ideal for guests travelling with dogs, with endless walks from the doorstep and space both inside and out to make them feel at home.
The Experience
Easy, sociable and shaped by the outdoors.
Days spent out on the fells,
evenings gathered around the table,
and quiet moments in between.
Harrycroft is a place to return to—without needing much of a plan at all.
