The Space:
Please note: This property does not accept bookings over 7 nights.The Poddy is single-storey and consists of a studio-style living space with kitchen with electric hob, George Forman grill, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dining space for two, and sitting area with TV. There is a double bed, serviced by a shower room. Outside there is a front enclosed decking space with furniture and off-road allocated parking for one car. Within 3.1 miles or less you will find a shop and a pub, and please note this is a smoke-free property. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels included in the rent. The property can accommodate up to 1, small, well-behaved dogs of Jack Russell size. Please note: No puppies or dogs under the age of 6 months. It is essential for you to let the owner know if you wish to bring any dogs with you. Explore the countryside of Wiltshire with a romantic stay at The Poddy. Note: No children allowed
The Neighborhood:
The large village of Lyneham is situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills, in rural northern Wiltshire, close to the border with Gloucestershire. Lyneham is probably best remembered as the base of the RAF’s Hercules fleet; the base was closed in 2012 and now hosts a Defence Training College. The village is well served by local businesses, including restaurants, pubs and shops, whilst the larger community of Royal Wootton Bassett is just 4 miles away. The friendly market town of Wootton Bassett was granted Royal patronage in 2011, due to its link with the repatriation of military personnel who sadly lost their lives serving their country overseas. It boasts a weekly market and also offers a good selection of local shops and inns, and provides an ideal touring base from which to explore the attractions of Wiltshire and beyond. The town is close to the historic Lydiard Park, Bowood and Longleat, with the ancient sites of Avebury and Stonehenge nearby. Visit the charming town of Malmesbury and the Cotswold Water Park, and with the historic cities of Bath, Oxford and Salisbury all easily accessible, makes Lyneham an ideal base at any time of the year.
