About this house rental
In the hollow of the Dordogne valley, facing the castles of Beynac, Castelnaud and Marqueyssac, a family home opens its shutters to you.
Former farm of the Château de Marqueyssac, this charming residence is nestled in the heart of a 6-hectare family estate, classified 5★ by the Périgord Noir Tourist Office.
Carefully restored, this estate houses two family homes, shared between their owners, their two cats and their hosts.
The house combines Périgord authenticity — exposed beams and blond stones — with an elegant and warm decoration: family furniture, patiently found, objects chosen one by one. The atmosphere is simple, soft, comforting. You feel privileged from the first moment.
Entirely independent, it accommodates up to 10 travellers in five bedrooms spread over three levels.
On the first floor:
A large single-storey suite with direct access to the terrace and en-suite bathroom (double sink, bath, shower). A bright living room with open kitchen and convivial dining room, open to the outside on both sides. A very well equipped adjoining storeroom. An elegant living room with beautiful exposed beams, with 2 sofas, a beautiful coffee table with old parquet flooring and a majestic stone fireplace and wood stove.
On the 1st floor:
Two double bedrooms — one with en-suite bathroom (bath, double sink, toilet), the other with private bathroom (walk-in shower, sink, toilet).
On the top floor:
A double bedroom under the slopes of the roof. An ideal room for children with two single beds and a beautiful view of the valley. A shared bathroom (shower, double sink, toilet).
A separate toilet on the first floor. A private laundry room (washing machine, dryer) — ideal for extended stays.
Outside:
Two very well equipped stone terraces with 2 large tables and chairs for 8/10 people that frame the house. A large garden open to the valley, shaded corners to read, dream or share a candlelit dinner. The salt swimming pool (5 x 15 m), the large pool-house with equipped kitchen and indoor and outdoor table with 8 deckchairs of good quality. The spectacular view, the vegetable garden, the fish pond and the petanque court make up a peaceful, lively, poetic picture. We have 4 chickens and two cats that are part of the place with the goldfish!
5 minutes from Beynac and Castelnaud, 5 minutes from La Roque-Gageac, 15 minutes from Sarlat — in the exact center of the wonders of the Périgord Noir.

We offer comfortable accommodation with:

In summer, arrivals are from 5 p.m. and departures between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. It is often impossible for us to get you back in earlier because the entire cleaning is long between two stays (thank you for your understanding)

We had an incredible 8-night stay chez Nathalie with a group of friends. The home is absolutely a dream - beautifully restored and even more beautifully appointed. The location is perfect and Nathalie is a marvelous host. I would give it six stars if I could! We will definitely be back.

An amazing house and property with a wonderfully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and a fabulous new bathroom. The pool house room has incredible views and awe saw a hot air balloon right above us. Nathalie and Denis were inattentive and hosts and responsive to all our needs. We look forward to returning with our grown children and grandchildren as it is not only a great place for a visit with friends but ideal for an extended family stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Denis & Nathalie's house with our entire extended family. We had 2 twin baby granddaughters with us and Nathalie went out of her way to have 2 travel cribs ready for their arrival.
The property was most amazing, with views of the historic medieval castles of Beynac, Castelnaud and Marqueyssac in different directions. The house is typical rustic Perigourdine, with a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable facilities, beautiful grounds, and a large swimming pool with its own poolhouse and kitchen, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. There were even a charming playroom with well stocked toys, dolls and games for children, a backyard trampoline and a
BBQ area from where you can watch hot air balloons drifting closely by!
Its location allows easy access to the castles, the charming villages of Beynac and La Roque-Gageac, the famous market of Sarlat-la-Caneda, the prehistoric Caves of Lascaux, to canoe and gabare trips down the Dordogne River, and even a daytrip to Rocamadour.
We are very happy to have found this property for our extended family overseas vacation and strongly recommend it!
Wish we had a chance to get recommendations about local attractions and restaurants from our knowledgeable charming hostess, whom we met on our last day!
