Country House in Shenandoah Valley, VA

About this country house rental
The house itself is a comfortable base for experiencing it all. You'll find a fully equipped kitchen where families gather to cook together, where the coffee tastes better with a mountain view. The game room has a pool table and a big screen TV for when you want to gather indoors, and every bedroom has its own screen for when you want to watch something or simply rest. There's a laundry room for longer stays, and WiFi throughout—because sometimes you need to stay connected, and sometimes you just don't.
But the real heart of this property is outside.
Step onto the wrap-around deck—300 feet of it—and you understand why we built this place. Adirondack chairs face the view. The outdoor dining table becomes the center of life. This is where you watch the light change at sunset, where you sit with your coffee and listen to the birds, where you stargaze when the sky fills with more stars than you can count. On clear nights, the Milky Way is visible, and the quiet is absolute.
The 300-acre farm around you is alive. From mid-April through September, 150 to 200 head of cattle graze the rolling pastures—a reminder that you're part of something real, something that matters. Bald eagles circle overhead. Red-tailed hawks hunt. Goldfinches, killdeer, and whip-poor-wills call. If you're a bird watcher, you've found your place.
The seasons here are dramatic. Fall arrives early at this elevation, and the foliage is breathtaking—reds, oranges, golds spreading across the mountains. Spring brings new life. Winter closes the gates, but from mid-April through November, you're here at the exact moment when the Allegheny Highlands are most alive.
This is a place to reset. To quiet the white noise of life. To remember what peace actually feels like. The views do most of the work for you. All you have to do is sit, breathe, and let the mountains remind you why you came.
