About this house rental
This half-timbered house is approximately 300 years old and has been renovated several times over the years. Most recently, we renovated it in 1987 and 1992. In 1987, a bathroom was installed (until then, there was still an outhouse in the barn next door), the electrical and water lines were replaced, and the half-timbering inside the house was exposed again. In 1992, we added a story to the attic and installed a new roof truss on the house.
Most of the doors are still in their original condition and are therefore not compatible with today’s average height. For you as a guest, this means the house requires a bit of “humility” on your part so you don’t bump your head. The lower staircase is also original, so it demands your full attention when using it—walking backward might help, and be sure to hold onto the railing. On the other hand, there’s nothing cozier than a half-timbered house.
Our vacation home features a kitchen and a bathroom on the first floor, on the first floor, a bedroom with a double bed and a room with a single bed; and in the attic studio, a pull-out double sofa bed and a dining table with six chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped; you’ll find the user manuals for the various appliances in the right-hand drawer of the dresser.
The bathroom has a washing machine and a clothes dryer.
The attic studio is equipped with satellite TV, a DVD player, and a stereo system. You’ll also find an extensive DVD collection here. Book lovers—at least those guests who enjoy picking up a book—will find books for all ages in the built-in closet.
You can temporarily store your bicycles and other items in the outbuilding.
The garden shed contains patio furniture and a swivel grill. This allows you to make yourself comfortable anywhere on the lawn and enjoy a barbecue.
NEW: Wallbox for electric cars. This means you can travel here in an eco-friendly way with your electric car and stay mobile while you’re here.
