Casa do Recanto - Loriga - Serra da Estrela

We arrived as a group of four adults. Overall, the house was excellent, perfect for a large family. Everything was clean and even new. There was enough cooking equipment. The beds were fine. The windows are well soundproofed and can be closed with shutters to block out light. Parking is very easy, right across from the cottage. The village itself is charming, with a couple of mini-marts and a bakery with everything you need. However, be prepared for a steep drop in elevation; if you have difficulty, it's best to drive there.

The front door is difficult to open with the key. You have to pull it; it took a few tries. I'd like to point out that the bedrooms are not equal. The second bedroom on the ground floor has a smaller bed; my husband's legs were in the air (he's 175 cm). The bathroom downstairs is also smaller; it didn't come with shampoo or conditioner, and the shower gel didn't work because the button was broken. It was unpleasant to find myself drenched in the bath without soap or shampoo. We used the barbecue, but didn't find any maintenance equipment: no tools (like a poker), no basket for firewood and charcoal, no cleaning products. There was coal and kindling in the house, but there were no logs for the fireplace.
