The Parkblick holiday flat is located in the manor house in the small and very quiet village of Swantow, once an important Slavic place of worship, on the old country road between Altefähr and Zudar in the sunny, gently undulating southern Rügen. There was already a small church here in 1294. The present village church of St. Stephen was built in 1469. Parts of its foundations consist of large boulders, presumably from the old place of worship. The village consists of 10 houses. The new Puddemin marina with a boat slipway, fishing club and a restaurant/café with a large terrace is just 1.8 km away. Garz, the oldest and smallest town on Rügen, is 3.5 kilometres away and has restaurants, a supermarket, bakery/pastry shop, chemist's, doctors' surgeries, pharmacy and much more. The Schloss Karnitz golf course is approx. 8 km from our house and covers 106 hectares with a 9-hole short course (public course) and an 18-hole championship course (challenge course). Here you can play golf without the hustle and bustle in an enchanting landscape with a beautiful clubhouse, good gastronomy and a wide view over the island. The village of Samtens is about 10 minutes away by car. There you will find supermarkets, restaurants, a petrol station as well as tennis courts, a fitness studio, etc. 11 km away from us is the village of Sehlen, where the Tegelhof equestrian centre is located. The Bodden and the beaches of the Zudar peninsula can be reached in a few minutes. There are opportunities for swimming, surfing, fishing, etc. There is an extensive, well-developed network of flat, slightly undulating or hilly paths for cycling tours. The cultural and theatre town of Putbus with its castle garden, the district town of Bergen and the Hanseatic city of Stralsund (UNESCO World Heritage Site) are all approx. 15 minutes away by car, while the lively seaside resorts of Binz and Sellin can be reached in 30 minutes by car.
