A lovely peaceful place to use as a base for exploring Rügen
We loved this beautiful, relatively new house in Puddemin. It was peaceful, with plenty of space both indoors, on the terrace and in the surrounding garden. Claudia, who lives in an adjoining property was always at hand when we needed her help (which wasn't so often thank goodness). She helped us to settle in on the day of arrival, graciously provided a daily bread roll service and managed the return of the keys at the end without any problems. She also arranged for some welcoming fruit and a bottle of bubbly to start with and gave us a nice liquid gift on departure, The house is modern, clean and beautifully decorated. The three bedrooms were comfortable, and the two large bathrooms were nicely set out with two large, walk in showers. We only used the sauna in the bathroom on the first floor on one occasion. Downstairs, the living room, adjoining "winter garden" area, dining room area and kitchen were all very nice and we spent many evenings watching soccer and Netflix in this cosy environment. Our Hovawart dog, Bero was well accepted and enjoyed his stay after he quickly realized that there was an electric fence between him and the ponies in the next field.
We really loved this place, but it is also true to say that there were two things that bugged us. 1. The location is lovely but very isolated. The restaurant at the nearby harbour had gone into liquidation and therefore is now closed down. We had to take the car to go to anywhere for shopping, drinks or meals. 2. The WiFi was rather weak. It worked with my laptop but was highly erratic with our Smartphones.
