A traditional property on the river in the centre of Matsumoto. An easy walk to everything. The hosts are a delight… friendly, kind and thoughtful… and the house is lovely. Breakfast in the cafe next door (owned by the hosts) was also delicious. Highly recommended. As an aside we also thought Matsumoto was great. Art galleries, local crafts, delicious food, cool bars, etc, as well as being so close to the northern alps. Not surprised it is the East Asia city of culture this year. Well worth a look.

This is the most homey accommodation we've ever stayed in! A very upper class guesthouse, extremely clean with a very comfortable set up. The hosts were super hospitable and SO lovely! They even gave us a little present as it's our honeymoon. We'll definitely visit again if we revisit Japan.

This beautiful guesthouse is perfectly situated by the river and an easy 15 minute walk from the station and short walking distance to the main attractions of Matsumoto including the castle, Nakamachi and Nawate shopping streets. It’s a traditional stay on tatami mats which we found so comfortable. But what makes this stay special are the owners who were so kind to us - we travelled with our young baby and felt so welcomed and loved immediately. It feels like a home rather than a guesthouse in the best possible way.
