Stay ONLY one night

The villa is surrounded by a large well-kept garden with lots of fruit trees. It was lovely to be surrounded by such natural beauty which also meant the location was naturally cooler despite the humidity and heat during April. The villa itself is a renovated traditional Sinhalese Walawwa equipped with wooden antique furniture belonging to the ancestors of the owners of the villa. The two bedrooms were spacious, air-conditioned and equipped with attached bathrooms open to the sky. The kitchen was well-equipped and there was also BBQ grill which we used for dinner! The breakfast provided was also a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast which was plentiful and tasty, and on request, the hosts were also able to provide us home-cooked lunch. The hosts live near the property and were always available to assist us and were keen to make sure every need was met, which was useful given that we travelled with three children and our dog!

The living areas (dining room and kitchen) could have benefitted from a fan or two, which I am told the owner ordered a month before our stay but had broken down by the time we visited the villa. Apart from that, we had no complaints about our stay, except maybe that we should have stayed for longer!
