MSResort

Staying at MS Resort was easily the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. The panoramic views of the misty mountains and tea estates from the private balcony are absolutely breathtaking—waking up to that sunrise is something I’ll never forget. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, and come with great hot water pressure (which is rare and much needed during the cool Haputale nights!). Above all, the hospitality is what makes this place special. The host family treated us like royalty, cooking incredible, massive fresh breakfasts every morning and even arranging a perfect sunrise tuk-tuk excursion to Lipton’s Seat.

Haputale can get quite cold at night, but our room at MS Resort was immaculate, modern, and exceptionally well-heated! The bed was massive and very comfortable, and the soundproofing guaranteed a flawless night's sleep. The balcony views over the mountains are the cherry on top.

The resort staff helped us organize an early morning tuk-tuk to see the sunrise, and it was unforgettable. Coming back to a cozy room and a steaming hot shower after hiking through the tea fields was pure bliss. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

The rooms were huge and a The views magnificent. The hotel was very remote in the middle of a village which was insightful into local life but felt a little too remote for us. We had a great sunrise at Lipton seat and the hotel organised the tuk tuk and we really enjoyed the 8 km hike back down.

there was very little to do in the immediate area and your only options for food and drink are the hotel. The dining area was very odd in the kitchen with one table and no ambience at all. The hotel is basically only possible because of the delightful son of the owners, he is the only one with any English and he helped his parents who could not speak English. We found the experience stifling and a little weird, it felt like more of a home stay than a hotel. we also had a very apologetic random guy walk into the room in the late evening who I assume was a family member. Upon leaving a night early we were charged full amount for 2 night and also charged for welcome tea and biscuits and breakfast drinks and bottled water for dinner. Overall I cannot recommend unless you are just here for views and hiking!
