The staff is incredibly nice and helpful
I think it is a bit pricey for what you get

Authentic pilgrimage experience. Great location on the Kumano route and beautiful Japanese style building where you sleep on a futon in a large room with other guests, so not much privacy. Very lovely and welcoming hosts. We were able to use the kitchen since there are very limited dinner options in this area.
The futon and pillow and sleeping bag were not very comfortable but it was to be expected with the style of pilgrims lodgings.
