Comfortable Stay Evanston NW - Near YYC Airport, Highways, Shopping & Parks

We loved the fresh, clean air in the room, with no strong odors from smoking or pets. It was obvious that the stove and plumbing had been recently installed. The room was stocked with ample cleaning supplies, trash bags, and toiletries. The bed linens and towels were in excellent clean condition. The mattresses were comfortable—we slept well. The apartment has very spacious closets—one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. Furthermore, the heat outside was unbearable when we arrived in Calgary. It was nice to have air conditioning, as well as a regular supply of hot water in the shower. The kids also enjoyed the Wi-Fi and watching TV. The hair dryer, microwave, iron, and ironing board were items we used regularly. Another nice bonus was the presence of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, salt, pepper and even toothpicks. The washer and dryer worked flawlessly. Clothes were washed well and undamaged.

There were a few inconveniences that could have easily been addressed if the owners had been prepared. First, our family [of four] was sorely lacking in cutlery, especially deep plates and other utensils. Sometimes we had to wait for one person to finish eating before the other could. There were also no kitchen knives (only dinner knives), cutting boards, or salad bowls. If you plan to eat out, this isn't a problem at all. But if you plan to stay for a long time and cook for your family, you'll need these items. Another point worth mentioning is the lack of a kitchen area. I didn't expect this to be such a problem, but it turned out to be incredibly awkward to eat at the coffee table. The kids sat on the rug around the table, while my husband and I held plates in our hands. Third, there were no desks, chairs, dressers, or mirrors in the bedrooms. Filling out paperwork or writing at the coffee table in the living room was also extremely inconvenient. I had to do this on my knees or sitting on the floor. As a woman, it was difficult for me to get ready in the bathroom during the week (especially when other family members were using it, as there's only one mirror). Also, keep in mind that with so many people, the toilet tank fills very slowly, so a bucket is quite helpful. Finally, since the tenants are very diverse, and some wear shoes and others are barefoot, the carpeting in the bedrooms and living room requires careful maintenance. We personally used slippers.

I love the location, so quiet and near to the stores. Cozy 2 bedroom space.

Toilet bowl was not clean, conditioner dispenser was not working, garbage compartment in the kitchen was not clean. These are not big deal for us but I thought I'd let you know. Suggestion: I know that the space is limited but if you guys can add a little dinning/folding table and couple of folding chairs that could be kept in your storage room when not in use, that will be great. Overall experience for my family is great! Thank you so much.
