Riverside Cabin in Akaroa

This cabin was exactly what this busy working mum of four needed to press pause on life and decompress. The tranquility of the flowing creek/river at your doorstep, the beautiful fire and the simplicity of no power and plently of walking track options at your doorstep made this mini getaway well worth it for me. For context my initial plan was to go into the forest and camp but due to weather that wasn't an option anymore. I feel like this is helpful as someone that isn't quiet as used to the outdoors may not see this gem in the same light. The lovely host was very helpful and knew the area well, she was able to answer questions about places to eat or watch the league.

There was nothing I didn't like. Definitley listen to the host in regards to parking on the road (10 meters from cabin) if you don't have 4WD tyres on your vehicle. I was in a car and when I came out in the morning after the rain I could see why this was good advice. Also potentially worth noting that amenities like power, kitchen, bath fridge etc are seperate - just a 10 meter walk down the road to the shared building. As I was prepared for a camping trip this was not n issue at all for me and I used the chilly bin provided and heated water on the fireplace for hot drinks and my porridge.

Such a friendly, warm welcoming host added to the experience. Felt very comfortable and enjoyed relaxing in the riverside cabin, easy access to great walks and town. Loved the lay out and decor of the place. HAD AN AWESOME TIME!

Should've stayed an extra night or 2!
