We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. So much to do and see right in town. We have a handy Welcome Book in the house full of dining options, Things to Do, available shopping, hiking trails and waterfalls. There are an abundance of wineries with music events available! Or a short drive to Helen for a Bavarian experience, tubing or zip lining.
There are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... The fellas will help you out! All kinds of water toys too like jet skis, (SUP), stand up paddle boards and kayaks.
Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks Lake Chatuge below and provides picturesque mountain views. Shooting Creek Overlook is breathtaking. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, Jackrabbit Mountain and Chatuge Dam. Both Towns County (Hiawassee GA) and Clay County (Hayesville NC) have super parks and beaches, trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, and are less than 10 miles from this home!

Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). I booked this mountain home as a surprise for my partner for his birthday. It was so much more than we could have imagined. The view every single day looked like a painting, the rustic inside of the cabin felt like a dream, and the bed provided a wonderful sleep. The cherry on top was the hot tub, which when opening the windows let in a little cool breeze, and felt like you truly were at the top of the trees.
With a slight hiccup upon arriving, it was nothing no one was able to fix. We had no issues reaching out to Chatuge Home Concierge for our stay.
There is an Ingles a quick drive from the cabin, which was able to provide us with everything we needed for the weekend. We had views of the lake, which is also great to drive down to, and it's completely paved the entire way to the house, which was lovely as well.
We truly felt so relaxed, and cannot wait to come back again!
