Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (25-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 30-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 45-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The kitchen , dinning, living room and half bath is on the main floor. There is also a screen porch and a sun deck off the main living room.
Bedroom #1 is on the top floor, Queen bed, Tv, shared bath in hallway.
Bedroom #2 is on the top floor, King Bed, Tv, shared bath in hallway.
Bedroom #3 is on the terrace level, bunkbeds with 4 twin mattresses, full private bath, couch, arcade game, and a tv.

McGhee Tyson Airport (109 miles), Asheville Regional Airport (113 miles), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (130 miles)
There are two "local" airports 1 in Andrews NC and the other in Blairsville GA.

Lake Chatuge is a TVA lake. The lake levels vary throughout the year. There is no water under dock From usually September -May. Please contact host to verify if dock can be used for your purpose.
* The house is located on a small cove, the house next door owns the small platform dock in front of this house. People
will potentially walk across the bottom end of the yard near the lake to get to that dock. Your dock is the big double
decker to the right side of the yard. Please respect the neighbors.
There is a camera on the tree looking at the entrance to the dock.
The owners' boat may be docked at the dock during your stay. It is not part of the rental and is not available for guest use.
If you bring or rent a boat, you're welcome to use the dock. Please be mindful of the water depth when docking, as it can vary depending on lake conditions.

All the necessities were there. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and fire pit. Having our own private dock allowed us flexibility with our pontoon boat and exploring the lake. Kids enjoyed the arcade machine and being in the hot tub, with the availability to watch their shows on the TV close by. Having a separate ice-maker to fill the cooler was a plus also! Definitely would recommend this house for a nice vacation getaway. The kitchen had all the amenities necessary for our stay including a waffle maker! Host was super easy to communicate with.

We loved Lakeside Lounge! Our family of 6 had plenty of space, everything was clean, and it was perfect for our dog. The dock was amazing as well as all the porches and hot tub!

The home was well equipped with all necessities. Disappointed that the lake was low so no fishing from the dock was possible. The outside patio furniture have not been maintained and cushions were stained. Appliances in the home were old and some broken such as the keypad on the microwave and the door handle to the freezer portion of the fridge.
