About this house rental

Experience a wonder of Palm Springs architecture at The Aluminum House, a renovated, two-bedroom retreat that sits within sight of the San Jacinto Mountains in the wonderfully central neighborhood of Movie Colony East. Only Albert Frey, in Palm Springs, was known to have used strong, lightweight, all-aluminum frames like this one, which dates back to 1953. The living space was ahead of its time, with walls of windows that let in the sunlight, an open kitchen, and front and rear patios that allow you to relax outdoors at any time of day. The windows throughout the home were also recently renovated and reimagined by H3K design. There's a private swimming pool with great sun exposure, plentiful outdoor seating for lounging and dining, as well as a firepit where you can unwind beneath the stars each evening.

This home is located in the desirable Movie Colony East neighborhood of Palm Springs, where it's surrounded by other architectural gems and celebrity homes. You'll be a few blocks from the tennis courts at Ruth Hardy Park, and less than a mile east of Palm Canyon Drive - the main strip in downtown Palm Springs that's lined with celebrated restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, casinos, and other attractions. The Palm Springs Art Museum is just over a mile west, Palm Springs International Airport is two miles southeast, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is less than seven miles west.

This is our third time at the aluminum house. The house has everything you need and is in the best location to downtown Palm Springs. We will definitely be back!

Newly refinished home in a great locations.

The home itself was nicely maintained, decorated, and clean. However, it is located directly on a noisy street, with a pool at the front of the property, which rendered it unsuitable for relaxation with near constant noise from traffic. The listing did not advise either of these facts. Poor Service from Vacasa - Confusing, poorly managed check-in process with conflicting information from multiple sources. Including being given multiple access codes. - Very late 4 PM check-in time. Request for earlier check-in denied. This necessitated a very late arrival due to available travel options. - There are multiple lockboxes on the property, which I was not told about. The lockbox right next to the front gate wouldn’t open with any of the codes provided. Vacasa was slow to respond to inquiries gaining entry (considering I was stuck outside the house, unable to enter). Eventually I found an additional lockbox, hidden around the side of the house (in darkness, because by then it was well into nighttime) which contained the keys so I was able to get into the house. - Only one set of keys provided for multiple guests, and a request for additional keys was also denied. This required constant coordination to ensure we didn’t inadvertently lock the other one out of the house. While the home's condition was good, the noisy location and subpar service from Vacasa detracted from the stay. The listing transparency and check-in experience need to be vastly improved.
