2.5km from Amboise, 55 min from Paris (on TGV), 1h from London (via Tours airport).
Capacity: 10 persons, all mod. cons. (4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms)
Secured swimming-pool, bed sheets, garden furniture, 1ha park enclosed by walls, swingset, barbecue set, internet (wifi).

Main entrance leading to the living-room and its carved wooden staircase.
Living-room/kitchen :
Very nice room with triple exposition, 2 french-windows, close to the swimming-pool and leasure space.
Numerous work-tops, dishwasher, electric oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer combo, induction and halogen hobs. Laundry equiped with a washing-machine.
Sitting-room:
Double sofa-bed, enclosed fireplace/logs provided, TV, DVD player, internet (wifi).

Shower, sink, toilet.

The house and pool are absolutely stunning! The hosts are very nice and responded right away whenever we had a question. The location is fantastic, easy drive or bike ride into town, close to wineries and Chateaus. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend. The only drawback is we were there during a heatwave and there is only AC in 2 bedrooms.

This was the perfect home base for our family of 5 on our trip to the Loire Valley. There was plenty of space to relax both inside and out. Amboise was a very short drive away with plenty of great restaurant options. The chateau is divided between the hosts and renters and the host family was extremely kind and welcoming.

The pool is lovely and if you are looking for a country experience close to a small city, the location can’t be beat. You are a very short drive from downtown Amboise. The property has horses and chickens, which our kids enjoyed. That being said, some things people should know before booking:First, you don’t have this place to yourself. The owners live there and occupy more than half of the house. They’re friendly and attentive but the listing photos give the impression that you have a “castle” to yourself… it would be more accurate to say you have a partitioned section of a castle to yourself.Second, while there are enough bedrooms to sleep 12 people as advertised, there is very little shared space. There is a smallish living room and a cramped kitchen on the ground level, and then rows of bedrooms on the second and third levels. Summer travelers should know that two bedrooms on the third floor are the only spaces in the house with AC. We were there on very very hot days, so were forced to spend more time inside than we had planned, and the house is not really set up for that. Lastly, the accommodations are spare. You’re basically getting bedding and towels, not much else. You’ll need to do a significant shop before you settle, including for kitchen and bathroom basics.As I said, the owners are friendly and charming, and it’s amazing the property has been in their family for centuries, but given the cost, travelers should be aware this a rustic, no frills experience.
