About this cottage rental
This holiday home offers comfortable family accommodation split over three floors, one in a quirky terrace of cottages at the southern end of Aldeburgh High Street and just 100 metres to the beach. Spend sunny days on the beach and snuggle in front of the open fire if the heavens open.
On the ground floor, the cosy sitting room with its wooden floor, period fireplace and Smart TV leads through to a very practical kitchen/diner with all the essentials for a self-catering holiday, as well as a dining table for six guests. There's a small courtyard garden to the rear of the cottage too, making it ideal for bringing your pet or just getting some sea air. On the first floor, two comfortable bedrooms await, one twin and one double, whilst on the second floor, there’s a further double bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
The cottage is well placed for eating out in Aldeburgh. The Aldeburgh Fish and Chip Shop is a few steps away, as is the Brudenell, a seafront hotel with a delightful restaurant with views out to sea. Aldeburgh and the surrounding area have inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde Estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.
