    Affordable budget friendly hostel. Clean and nice. They really change the bed sheets, not just fold it back and fixed it after someone used it. Fast internet, free drinking water.

    The staff are nice and the vibe is good. I really appreciated havung curtains for each bad, which gave me some privacy. However, the floor is quite wobbly whenever someone walks around, which can be uncomfortable, especially at night. There's also only one shower room for a 10 person dorm, and unfortunately, it was dirty and smelled bad

    It was an impulsive decision to stay in Cebu for a night, and since it was my first time travelling alone, I wanted to find somewhere safe, clean, and affordable. As a student spending my own money, I had a budget of around ₱500, so I wasn't really expecting much. After scrolling through different options, I found Yellow Umbrella Hostel. It was one of the most affordable places I saw and was also conveniently located near the places I wanted to visit. I was hesitant at first because the cheapest room was a mixed dorm, there wasn't much of a price difference with the female dormitory and I thought that for the price, I probably shouldn't expect too much comfort. But I decided to blindly book it and just trust the process. When I finally saw my space, I was genuinely kilig because it was so clean and organized. And when I actually rested, I was like—IT WAS SOOO COZY, I COULD LIVE HERE 😭 From the clean bathroom with a heater, air-conditioned room, personal sockets and lights, storage spaces, kitchen, and free drinking water, I honestly felt like I got more than what I paid for. What made the experience even better was the staff and other guests. Everyone was so friendly, and the staff were very accommodating whenever I had concerns. As someone travelling alone for the first time, that made me feel really comfortable and safe. I also loved that I could leave my luggage there even after checking out, so I could still enjoy my day in Cebu without carrying everything around. Overall, what started as a hesitant, impulsive, budget-friendly blind booking turned into one of the best decisions I made during my trip. I really, really recommend it HUHUHU. 🥹 Of course, since it's a shared space, I also had to be considerate of the other people in the dorm—especially when using the bathroom or making noise. So if you're looking for complete privacy, a shared dorm might not be for you. But if you're okay with that, I say go for it! 🥰
