Encanto Farmstay Resort

We stayed at this farmhouse as a family and had booked a package that included breakfast. On the positive side, the place itself was neat and well maintained, with good facilities. My children really enjoyed the stay. The caretaker was pleasant and responsive, and the security staff was also very helpful. From an accommodation and ambience point of view, the place is quite good. However, the food service was a major disappointment and significantly affected our overall experience. On the first day, while ordering dinner from the menu shared by the farmhouse management, the person in charge of food responded rudely, saying that this is not a hotel and that we cannot order multiple varieties. We were forced to choose only one item for dinner, despite it being a paid meal. There was no price mentioned in advance, and while checkout, they charged an arbitrary amount without providing any proper bill or denomination. The breakfast experience was even worse. When my wife and I asked for one tea and one coffee, the food in-charge shouted at us in Kannada, again saying this is not a hotel and that we could ask for only tea *or* coffee, even though both were available. While serving the complimentary breakfast, we were made to feel as if we were being given free charity food rather than something we had already paid for. We chose not to argue, as we didn’t want to spoil the mood of our trip. On the second day, breakfast was limited to only idli, and they didn’t even have the courtesy to offer tea or coffee. Given the previous day’s experience, we didn’t feel comfortable asking for anything. Overall, this place is worth visiting **once**, provided you have minimal interaction with the food in-charge. There are plenty of good restaurants available within 2–3 km, and it is far better to arrange food from outside. I strongly recommend **not booking any package that includes breakfast**, as the food service experience can be humiliating and will definitely affect your stay.
