I checked in around 3, but the staffs are asking to check out by the next day 11 o clock due to the room booked online and they have seperate rules for offline bookings. They are not even adjusting and it looks rude.

I reached Chennai Egmore around 4 AM and tried calling the hotel’s “24/7” reception. Silence. After half an hour, I gave up and booked online through Agoda for ***. Their direct rate was *** which I get to know only after I reached the hotel. What surprised me first when I visit around 6 am was the mix of stiffness (maybe because he woke up after my arrival) and kindness from the night shift staff. Even then, I was allowed to sit in their clean common area, use the visitor’s bathroom (which had both Indian and Western toilets—spotless), and later leave my bag safely at the watched reception. Because as per my booking 12 pm to 11 am is checkin and checkout time. When I finally checked into my room, I found two toothbrushes and a decent-sized tube of toothpaste already placed there. A small gesture, but it felt thoughtful. Based on my past experiences, for this kind of budget I have only got a finger sized toothpaste. The room itself was cramped, yes, but well arranged. The bed was comfortable, the AC was ice-cold, and the TV actually worked without asking for more money—a nice surprise for a budget stay. And almost all the amenities A few things stuck out, though. The AC vent was thick with old dust—not flying around, but definitely there. The shower was fixed to the ceiling, so I had to move under it like I was in a car wash (not quietly the same, but kind of yes). And the policies… they were clear on paper but fuzzy in fairness. Because I booked online, I couldn’t check in early even though I only needed the room until 5 AM the next day. I too could check in early, if I paid the whole one day rent. But If I’d booked directly, they would’ve allowed it (for a fee, maybe half day depends of the hrs, not sure). There was also a note about a ₹500 visitor charge if someone entered the room. If not, they can wait in the reception. Right there at the reception, a printout promised they’d match lower online prices if you booked directly. When I asked about it later, that turned out to be… not true. It left me with the feeling that guests who book directly—and pay more—are treated a little better, with more flexibility and maybe a warmer smile. Still, when all was said and done, I paid ₹1300 for a clean, comfortable room in a perfect location. The quirks were there, but so was the value. And in the end, I was happy with what I got.
