Newlands Fell Cottage

Very clean. Beautiful open beams throughout. Each bedroom had its own ensuite and tv. Well stocked kitchen for self catering. Beautiful scenery surrounding cottage. Free use of nearby Spa was lovely. Good communication from owner during stay.

Only hand towels provided. A number of problems with fixtures/furniture were advised to owner on leaving, e.g. washer and both bathroom extractor fans do not work, wooden drawers in bedroom stuck closed etc. Hopefully these will be sorted for next guests. Property can be difficult to find and the road to the property is very narrow, some of it sharp bends etc. Road is literally feet from your door, which could be disruptive at busy times, and tricky letting dog out. No decent outdoor space to enjoy or let dog out was def a downside for us, and could not walk from property because of narrow roads. No WiFi or signal inside cottage. We stayed during a heatwave and it heats up like an oven, it was warmer inside than outside with only one electric fan to assist.

Great views. Lovely walks from the property.

There were no bath towels. And not even one teabag to make a cuppa on arrival. No wifi and poor phone connection, though understandable given location. It was the lack of towels that was the major disappointment.
