Cosy room

Excellent location and great value for money! The family was genuinely warm, friendly and welcoming. They kindly accommodated my request to change rooms, as I needed a proper desk to work from home. What made the stay even more special was their thoughtful gesture of treating me to delicious homemade baked goodies from their home country. It was such a lovely personal touch!

Likes Ethnic neighborhood, but safe Criticism can disrupt host's dreams. Better to bring up small details indirectly, so they can be noticed and possibly addressed. Host is a couple, both on site. Off site is probably preferable. Ethnic couple. Dislikes Didn't Answer phone when I called twice at rendezvous time. Had to bother neighbors for help. Outgoing message isn't personalized. No confirmation you reached the right number. No apt. no or floor no. in welcome messages. Patio not cleaned up for guest use. Check out time is at 10AM. Why not 11AM or noon? Dressers and shelving units across the entire hallway remind me of life on a WWII submarine, on films. Kitchen feels the same way.

The use of space and clutter brings to mind poverty and sacrifice. It could affect a guest's ideas on wether to renew. It does in my case. Having this strange use of space reminds me of a packrat, a form of mental illness. No body washes or shampoo in shower. The cleanliness isn't as pronounced with too much clutter. Even if it is clean, the mind makes a connection between neatness and cleanliness. The family left pots with food in them on the stove. Having the stove and cleared off counter for guests is a plus. They may have offered the guests a kitchen, but they still need to keep up the spirit of that offer.
